7 Apps to Make Your Apple Watch Do More Than Just Fitness Tracking

A smartwatch truly becomes smart when it is used beyond fitness. Of course, tracking your footsteps and logging your exercise data on your Apple Watch is important. However, using it merely for fitness is a myopic outlook. If you ask us, your Apple Watch has unexplored potential, whether it’s building new (and good) habits or ensuring that you’ve had enough water. In this article, we will walk you through some unique apps that will aid you in using your Apple Watch beyond fitness.

1. Fabulous – Daily Habit tracker

Want to go for runs every morning? Or do you want to build a habit of meditating daily? Fabulous Daily Habit Tracker is just the app for you. First things first, I loved the app interface—it is intuitive and user-friendly with communicative instructions. You can input varied habits, from water goals to exercise goals to tidying up, getting ready, etc.

There’s a slight catch, though. You can’t directly add habits from your watch. However, the Watch app opens the habit-adding page on the iPhone when you tap Add Habit. You can purchase a premium version of the app at $1.99. Should you want a more handy watch app, you can check out Productive or Streaks. These come at $5.99, though.

2. TickTick

While a good habit tracker ensures you set a stabilized routine, an app like TickTick helps you keep up with day-to-day tasks. You can set tasks using both your Apple Watch and iPhone.

One letdown, however, is if you want to set specific timings, priority levels, etc., for tasks that can only be done via the iPhone app. Don’t worry, the app won’t let you forget any task, thanks to its seamless notifications.

What I love most about the app is you can set priority levels for tasks. That way, even if I am running behind schedule, the priority levels help classify pending work without much hassle. The best part about such apps? Well, it is striking a task off the list. Phew. Don’t even get me started on how satisfying that is!

3. Nano For Reddit

Truth be told, I have grown out of forums. But but, Reddit? — I am obsessed. Right from restaurant suggestions to celebrity gossip, Reddit has become more like an addiction. That’s when I discovered Nano for Reddit. This app presents everything on your wrist.

The ability to read community news and view clips and pictures at the convenience of my wrist makes this app worth it. The app’s interface is clean and user-friendly. Navigation is smooth. And guess what? There are no ads on the app. Yes yes, even the free version!

4. Flo Period and Pregnancy Tracker

Being uncertain about my period date is a monthly affair. So, one fine day, I thought, why not just start tracking it? That’s when a friend told me about the Flo Period and Pregnancy Tracker. While Apple has its Menstrual Tracking app, I preferred the user interface of Flo. Right from your period date to flow, you can add relevant details pertaining your menstruation.

With this, I can be well-informed about when I can expect my next period. That way, my month is better planned out in terms of my treks, exercises, etc. This app is a great deal for to-be mothers as well! Flo helps track ovulation. It intimates you regarding the chances of pregnancy. Oh, and I almost forgot—you can even add your partner so they are well aware of your cycles.

5. Infinity Loop – Relaxing Puzzle

While I am on the metro, I tend to get bored. To keep myself away from short-form content like Reels, I play Infinity Loop. No, this isn’t your typical Snake Xenzia-type game. In this puzzle, you need to use your logic to create looping patterns.

The best part? I could see an improvement in my concentration levels. This is a simple game. No ads or other distractions. You keep playing the game on and on and on. No getting bored as each level is a new challenge. All in all, Infinity Loop helps me unwind before rushing again.

6. Water Tracker Waterllama

Our lives have become so fast-paced that we often forget to drink water. Enter Waterllama, an app that helps you build a habit of drinking water at regular intervals. What I loved about the app is its cute interface. Apart from an intuitive interface, the app has ample functionality.

There’s an adorable llama ensuring you’re having water. Each time you log water intake, the watch app allows you to add even the volume of water consumed. Plus, one swipe down, and you’ll know how what time you last had water.

7. Stoic – Journal and Mental Health

Mental health is supreme. Each passing hour, we have different thoughts racing through our minds. So, to trace my thoughts, I like to journal them down. So if you, like me, would want a more handier option than a paper and phone, you should get the Stoic app. On this app, I don’t just journal my thoughts; I have space to log my mood, emotions, etc.

A unique feature is meditation. Set your time interval and start; it’s that simple! While the Apple Watch has a default breathe functionality, I like Stoic’s better since it has different breathe modes for when you want to sleep, relax, etc. To conclude, download for mental well-being.

Bonus: Dogo

Did you know you can train your puppy at the convenience of your Apple Watch? Let me introduce you to Dogo. Teach your doggo tricks like clap-clap and back-flips. Teaching is made easy for you with step by step pictorial information. of course, the teaching process is not that easy. That said, if you like the app, you can start with Dogo’s 7-day free trial. You need to subscribe once the same ends.

So, which of the above-mentioned apps are you downloading to make your Apple Watch do more than just fitness tracking?
