Try These Basic Tips
- Switch to windowed mode: You’re likely to experience increased FPS while playing Roblox in windowed mode. Press F11 to switch to exit the fullscreen mode and adjust the size of the Roblox window to your liking.
- Terminate unnecessary apps and programs: Roblox graphics may appear bad or blurry if too many background apps and programs run concurrently. To avoid this, close all the apps and programs you are not using.
Fix 1: Adjust In-Game Graphics Quality
Roblox also provides the option to enhance graphics quality directly from the in-game menu. By doing so, you can make Roblox graphics better and more realistic on your PC. To adjust the quality of the in-game graphics in Roblox:
Step 1: Open Roblox on your PC and start your favorite game. Click the Roblox icon at the top left.
Step 2: Switch to the Settings tab and set the Graphics Mode to Manual. Then, use the plus icon next to Graphics Quality to increase the quality of the in-game graphics.
Step 3: Press Esc after this to return to the game and check if you notice any differences.
Fix 2: Set Graphics Preference for Roblox to High Performance
On Windows, you can set graphics preferences for each app and program separately. You can use this option to configure Roblox to use the dedicated GPU, which can improve your experience. Here’s how:
Step 1: Press the Windows + I keys to launch the Settings app and head to System > Display.
Step 2: Scroll down to Related settings and click on Graphics.
Step 3: Click on Roblox and select Options.
Step 4: Set the Graphics preference to High performance and hit Save.
Fix 3: Set High Priority for Roblox Process in Task Manager
Another way to enhance the performance of a specific app or game, such as Roblox, is by setting its process priority to High. To do so, open Roblox and press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager. Switch to the Details tab > locate and right-click the Roblox process on the list > select Set priority > High.
Fix 4: Enable High-Performance Power Plan
When playing games like Roblox, it’s best to activate the high-performance power plan on Windows to ensure a smooth gaming experience. Here’s how to do that.
Step 1: Click the search icon on the taskbar, type control panel, and press Enter.
Step 2: Use the drop-down menu at the top right to change the view type to Large icons. Then, go to Power Options.
Step 3: Select High performance.
Fix 5: Update Graphics Drivers
Outdated or corrupt graphics drivers on your PC can also affect Roblox’s performance. Hence, it’s a good idea to regularly update your PC’s graphics drivers to ensure optimal performance.
Step 1: Right-click on the Start icon > select Device manager.
Step 2: Expand Display adapters, right-click on your graphics driver, and select Update driver. Then, follow the on-screen prompts to finish updating the driver.
Fix 6: Use Roblox FPS Unlocker
Roblox has a framerate cap of 60 frames per second (FPS) for all games. While Roblox doesn’t provide the option to increase FPS, you can use a third-party app like Roblox FPS Unlocker to bypass this limitation. Here’s how:
Step 1: Open any browser and download the Roblox FPS Unlocker setup.
Step 2: Select the rbxfpsunlocker-x64.zip file and click the Extract all option.
Step 3: Double-click rbxfpsunlocker.exe to run it.
And that’s about it. Open your favorite Roblox game and press Shift + F5 to view the FPS. Roblox should now run at a higher FPS, depending on your PC’s hardware capabilities.
