How to Bypass Adblock Detection on Any Website

Quick Tips
  • Reading mode is the best way to read the content of any website with zero advertisements.
  • Disabling Javascript can also limit website functionality. Only do it for pages you can’t avoid.
  • Brave Browser is best if you want a browser with a strong adblocker.

Method 1. Open in Reading Mode

Reading mode in a browser pulls the primary content and removes the need for any script on the website. However, it’s different for every browser.

Step 1: Visit the page you want to read through.

Reading Mode Chrome

Step 2: Right-click and select Open in Reading mode. This will open a small window on the left to help you read through the content.

Method 2. Disable JavaScript

Disabling JavaScript loading on the browser level ensures no advertisement loads, making it easy to get a clutter-free reading experience. However, it will also disable additional functionality that the site offers. It would be best if you used this temporarily.

Step 1: Open Google Chrome and copy and paste the URL in the address bar:

chrome://settings/content/javascript

Step 2: Over here, select Don’t allow sites to use JavaScript to stop using JavaScript for any website.

Step 3: You can also disable JavaScript for a specific site only. To do this, go to the specific website > click View site information > Site settings.

Site Settings Chrome

Step 4: Then, select Block from the JavaScript dropdown menu. When you open the website, you should not see any advertisements.

Method 3. Use Brave Browser

Alternatively, you can use Brave as your default browser. Brave comes with an ad-blocking feature by default. So, whichever website you visit, you will get an ad-free experience. Its ad-blocking also works well for YouTube and other streaming sites.

Method 4. Bypass Adblock Using Tamper Monkey Script

If you wish to bypass more than one website, installing an anti-adblock killer makes more sense. The UserScript helps keep your ad-blocker active when you visit a website, even when it asks you to disable it.

Step 1: As this is a script, you must install Greasemonkey on Firefox or Tampermonkey for Opera or Chrome.

Install Greasmonkey Script

Step 2: Once these add-ons are installed, you must Subscribe to the Filter List for the specific ad blocker you are using on your browser.

Step 3: After that, install the Anti-Adblock UserScript and relaunch the browser for the changes to take effect.

  1. I’ve used Brave Browser for, oh, about 4 years now. And I still get the occasional advert. I also get an “It looks like you are using an ad-blocker” warning message from some sites. Then I started using custom DNS on my Router. Bye-bye ads and bye-bye warning messages.
Thanks for the information on the other techniques.

  2. I tried disabling Javascript on Pinterest, but it turned the entire page blank. I’m not willing to download a different browser, as Edge works perfectly fine.

Let’s address the fact that, legally, a website cannot detect adblocking extensions on an individual user’s browser without directly violating that user’s right to privacy. It might be different in places like China or North Korea; but I, for one, don’t happen to live in such openly oppressive nations. I live in what is allegedly the “land of the free”.

I do NOT feel free when my surfing experience is held hostage until I either disable my adblocker or go into an InPrivate window, which is what I’ve been forced to do since Google turned fascist over on YouTube.

I understand that ads generate revenue. But I also understand that I have a right to feel safe when I’m online. Being commanded to disable my adblocker is NOT conducive to a safe Internet environment.
