How to Add Someone to WhatsApp by Scanning Their QR Code

On Android

Step 1: Tap on the three dots and select Settings.

Step 2: Tap on the QR code icon next to your name.

Step 3: Switch to the Scan Code tab.

Step 4: Point your camera at the QR code to scan it.

Once the code is scanned, a new chat window will open with that person. You can now message them on WhatsApp.

On iPhone

Step 1: Tap on Settings at the bottom right.

Step 2: Select the QR Code option next to your name.

Step 3: Tap on Scan.

How to Create and Share WhatsApp QR Codes

On Android

Step 1: Tap the three dots and select Settings.

Step 2: Tap the QR code icon next to your name.

Step 3: On the My Code tab, you’ll see your QR code.

Step 4: Tap the Share button at the top right.

This is very useful if you have a WhatsApp business account and want clients or customers to contact you on WhatsApp.

On iPhone

Step 1: Tap Settings at the bottom right.

Step 2: Select the QR Code icon next to your name.

Step 3: Tap the Share button (box with an upward arrow) at the top right.

How to Reset Your WhatsApp QR Code

If you’ve shared your QR code with someone and now want to change it, or if you want to reset your code for security reasons, here’s how:

On Android

Step 1: Tap the three dots and select Settings.

Step 2: Next to your display picture, tap the QR code icon.

Step 3: On the My Code tab, tap the three dots at the top right.

Step 4: Tap Reset QR code > Reset.

On iPhone:

Step 1: Tap the Settings tab at the bottom right.

Step 2: Select the QR Code icon next to your display picture.

Step 3: Tap Reset QR code > Reset.

After resetting your QR code, the old code won’t work anymore.
