Method 1: Using iCloud Backup
Your iPhone takes a regular backup of your data. This is helpful if you lose your device or experience unexpected data loss, like an accidentally deleted call log. You must first reset your iPhone completely to use this feature. Then, copy the previous backup to restore your call logs. Here’s how.
Step 1: Follow the on-screen instructions until you reach the Apps & Data screen. Here, tap on Restore from iCloud Backup.
Step 2: When prompted, sign in with your Apple ID.
Step 3: Then, choose the relevant backup and wait for the process to finish.
Once done, open the Phone app and check the Recents tab for the deleted call logs on your iPhone.
Method 2: Using iTunes
Using the iTunes app on your Windows or Mac device, you can easily access and restore previous iCloud backups on your iPhone. Once done, you can see deleted calls on your iPhone. Open the iTunes app on your desktop and connect your iPhone to your desktop via cable. Then, follow these steps.
Step 1: When prompted, tap on Trust and enter the device password on your iPhone.
Step 2: Once the device details show on iTunes, click on Restore Backup.
Step 3: Click on the drop-down and select the relevant backup.
Step 4: Verify backup details and click on Restore.
Wait for the restore process to finish. Then, open your iPhone and check if you can find recently deleted phone call details. If your Mac is running macOS Catalina or later, use Finder to recover deleted call logs as well. Keep reading to know more.
Method 3: Using Finder on Mac
Mac users have the advantage of being able to directly recover their iPhones without using any other software. This can help you recover deleted call logs using a previous backup. First, connect your iPhone to your Mac via cable and tap on Trust. Then, follow the below steps.
Step 1: Open Finder on your Mac and click on your iPhone from the menu options.
Step 2: Here, click on Restore iPhone.
Step 3: If prompted, click on Don’t Back Up.

Method 4: By Requesting Data Copy From Apple
Apple allows you to download a copy of your data related to your Apple ID. Using this, you can recover a copy of your deleted call history on your iPhone without a backup. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Open Apple’s Data and Privacy page on any web browser.
Step 2: Enter your Apple ID and password. Click on Next and enter the 2FA code.
Step 3: Go to the Obtain a copy of your data section and click on Request a copy of your data.
Step 4: Select the data you wish to include and click Continue.
Step 5: Use the drop-down menu to select the maximum download size and click on Complete request.
Once done, check your email. The relevant data file should be available in your inbox within the next seven days. Then, check the file to see your previous call history.
Method 5: From Your Carrier Call History
Your mobile carrier stores detailed records of your calls, texts, data usage, etc., for several months. By going through your call logs, you can look at who called you and when. For most carriers, you can use the official app to download a summary of your calls without using a computer.
The only drawback to using this method is that your complete call history will only be visible at the end of the month or whenever generated by your carrier.
FAQs
You might be able to find your previous month’s deleted call logs on Apple’s data copy or in your carrier’s call history. Additionally, certain third-party apps might also help recover your month-old deleted call history.
If the call in question was made recently, the other person might still have a record of it. Ask them to send you the details of the call. However, you must contact individuals separately to get the logs for other calls made to your iPhone.
As long as iCloud sync is enabled for the Contacts and Phone apps, your call history should be automatically synced on your iPhone.
Certain third-party apps can help you recover your previously deleted call logs on your iPhone. Some apps might help you retrieve other previously deleted data. However, they will need access to your device’s data and accounts to do that. This can be a potential security risk. So, we do not recommend using this method to find your previously deleted call logs.
