Method 1: Turn off Special Characters in Samsung Keyboard
To prevent special characters from appearing on your keyboard, go to Settings > General Management > Keyboard list and default > Samsung Keyboard > Layout > turn off Alternative characters.
However, this will not disable the long press feature, as the accented characters will still appear. Sadly, there is no way to disable special characters altogether, but you can change the hold time on the keyboard. By doing so, you will need to hold longer on the keyboard keys for accented characters to show up, thus reducing the unintentional typing of foreign or accented characters in your text.
For that, go to Settings > General Management > Keyboard list and default > Samsung Keyboard > Swipe, touch, and feedback > Keyboard touch and hold delay. Select Long or set any custom time using the Custom option.
Pro Tip: Use the Keys Café module of Samsung’s Good Lock app to customize your keyboard according to your liking. Check out other ways to customize your phone using Good Lock.
Method 2: Remove an Icon From the Keyboard Toolbar
Removing any icon from the Samsung keyboard’s toolbar is easy. Open the keyboard and tap the three-bar icon. Then, hold and drag the icon from the toolbar to the bottom panel to remove it. You can also use this method to remove the AI button (Stars) from the keyboard.
