Pre-Requisites to Create QR Codes With QR4office
To create a QR code, you’ll need the following:
- Windows 10 version 16299 or higher
- Microsoft 365 subscription
- Microsoft Word/PowerPoint/Excel
- QR4Office
How to Create QR Codes With QR4office
Using the QR4Office Add-In requires launching it within any Microsoft Office Package. Here’s how to do so.
Step 1: Open Word or any other Microsoft Office 365 app; on the home page, click Add-in, search for QR4office, and click Add.
Step 2: Within the add-in drop-down menu, select http:// or https:// for weblinks, mailto: for emails, tel: or sms: for phone lines, geo: for locations, and custom to create a unique QR code.
Step 3: Input the URL or text for the QR code to the right of the drop-down menu.
Step 4: Most QR codes are black and white. However, the QR4Office add-in allows you to change the color. You can select the preferred color of the QR code by choosing from the color palette or inserting the RGB color code.
Step 5: Click Set color after choosing the preferred color.
Step 6: To select the QR code size, drag the Size slider from left to right. As you change the size, URL, or text of the QR code, it should be displayed in a preview box.
Step 7: You can set the QR code’s Error correction percentage by selecting the percentage within the drop-down menu. The error correction feature ensures the QR code can restore data if it gets damaged or dirty (useful when the code is in print form).
Step 8: Click Insert to create the QR code in your Microsoft Office Package.
Step 9: If Insert doesn’t work, right-click the preview image and click Copy image. Within the Microsoft Office Package, select Paste Options > Picture (U).
While we performed these steps with Microsoft Office, you can paste the QR code within other Microsoft tools, such as PowerPoint and Excel, or embed it on a website.
