Note: WhatsApp syncs across devices. So, if you silence a WhatsApp group on a desktop, it will automatically be applied to your mobile device. The setting syncs seamlessly between devices without manual execution.
What Happens When You Mute WhatsApp Group Notifications
- Muting a WhatsApp group silences notifications for that specific group. You won’t receive any sound, vibration, or pop-up alerts when new messages are posted in the group.
- You can choose how long to mute the group—options include 8 hours, 1 week, or permanently. The always option mutes the group indefinitely until you manually unmute it.
- You will still receive all the messages sent in the group, and they will be available for you to read whenever you open the group chat.
