Hello Kiril,

Thank you for your comment.

The previous and next links you are referring to are really theme dependent. Your theme could have them or not. It is not really something relevant to WordPress although their default theme does add that. That’s why we recommend changing your theme to something more SEO friendly ASAP.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else

Thank you for this great article!
I understood the silos concept and the link structure to achieve this. One thing is still not clear to me – by default WordPress seems to be not really silo-friendly.
I’m explaining what I mean. At the bottom of each post you have the previous/next post links that are not respecting the category (silo) to which the post belongs. These links go to the previous or next post in chronological order, regardless of the category of the post.
Do you think that this default post interlinking structure of WordPress counteracts our silo building efforts?
Thanks

Hello Francesco,

Thanks a lot for your comment and for offering an alternative approach. It could definitely work that way.

We have noted your feedback about creating a Silo theme and will be sharing it to take it up in our next meeting.

Do let us know if you have any other feedback to share.

great content but I think that you missing something.
If I have a page for silo with email-marketing-tips and a category with the same slug too (if I remove category base with yoast) the slug’s category I created become /email-marketing-tips-2/. Now in order to avoid this problem, it should be a great idea to maintain /category/ base slug and redirect the category (/category/email-marketing-tips/) to the page (/email-marketing-tips). Now you can use a page instead of a category to create a silo. An alternative can be modified via php category page in order to show description, subcategories links, a list of sticky posts for parent category and the complete lists of the post (excluding sticky posts to avoid duplicate content). Well, WordPress doesn’t allow it by default and I think you can create the first real silos template works great in terms of functionality and layout. What do you think about implementing the first real silo theme with the integration of your greatest SEO plugin Rank Math?

Could you please explain how this is set up?
Many thanks
