If you don’t want to install an extension, you can use the built-in subtitle translation tool on YouTube. Click on the captions menu > select Subtitles/CC. Click on Auto-translate and select the language you want to translate the subtitles to. You’ll now see the YouTube video with translated captions!

Extension 1: SimIntpr
Don’t work hard on reading the extension’s name; install it from the Chrome webstore, and it’ll get the job done.
Once you install it, click on the Extensions icon at the top right corner and select the extension. Open the drop-down box next to Translate To and select the language.
When you play the video on YouTube, you’ll see the translated subtitles. In the extension settings, you can also choose to have the translation read out loud.

Extension 2: Felo Subtitles
Felo subtitles use GPT to translate captions in real time on YouTube videos.
Step 1: Install the Felo Subtitles extension from Chrome Webstore.
Step 2: Once you install it, click on the Extensions icon at the top right corner and select the extension. Click on the Translation Start icon at the top right corner.
Step 3: A window will appear on the video. Click on the settings icon and select the translation language.
There you go; you can see the subtitles translated into a language of your choice. You can also move around or resize the translation window.
Extension 3: Trancy AI Subtitles
Trancy AI not only helps you translate subtitles but also learn a few languages while at it.
Step 1: Download and install the Trancy extension from the Chrome Webstore.
Step 2: Once you install it, click on the Extensions icon at the top right corner and select the extension. Initially, you will be asked to pick a language you speak and what you want to learn.
Don’t worry; this is only to set up the extension, and you can pick a language of your choice each time you want to translate a video.
Step 3: Then, pick the language you want to translate your videos to using the Translation language menu.
Step 4: Click on the extension logo on the video toolbar.
Step 5: Your video will play in a new window. Click on the subtitle icon and select Translation. This will translate the subtitles.
Tip: Additionally, you can also pick bilingual to see subtitles in two languages—your primary language and the one you want to learn.
Extension 4: Sub Trans
Like Trancy, Sub Trans also lets you view subtitles in two languages. Install the extension from the Chrome Webstor and click on the extensions, select SubTrans to activate the extension. Select the language for the first subtitle, and if needed – a second subtitle with a different language.
You’ll see the captions being translated in real time. You can also drag and move around the subtitle box across the video.
