Basic Fixes
- Force quit and relaunch the app: This will give the app a fresh start and reload it entirely on your iPhone.
- Update the Calendar app: You can install the latest version of the app by installing a new iOS version.
Fix 1: Check the Default Email Account
If your contact birthdays are not showing in the Calendar app on your iPhone, check the default email account linked with the Calendar app.
Step 1: Open the Calendar app on your iPhone and tap on Calendars at the bottom.
Step 2: Check if the Calendar app can access the email account associated with your contact list.
If not, tap the checkbox next to the email address to enable it and tap on Done.
Alternatively, here’s how to check the default email account for the Calendar app has been enabled.
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone and go to Calendar.
Step 2: Tap on Accounts and choose the email account linked to your contact list.
Step 3: Enable the toggle for Calendars, if not already, to ensure the Calendar app has access to the email account.
Fix 2: Enable Default Alert Times
The Calendar app will send you alerts for birthdays, events, and all-day events on your iPhone. So, if you are not receiving birthday notifications from the app, check if the Default Alert Times has been turned on for your iPhone.
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone and select Calendar.
Step 2: Scroll down and select Default Alert Times. Choose Birthdays and tap on the alert time schedule during which you want to receive the birthday notifications.
Fix 3: Check iCloud Sync Settings for Calendar App
If you still can’t see birthdays in the Calendar app on your iPhone, ensure to sync it with iCloud on your iPhone.
Go to Settings > Profile icon > iCloud > Show All Apps > Calendar > Use on this iPhone.
