Basic Fixes

- Force quit and relaunch the Apple TV app: Click on the Apple logo > Force Quit > Select Apple TV > Force Quit.
- Check if the macOS update: Open Settings > General > Software Update.
- Check the system status page: Visit the official Apple system status page to check if the TV app is facing any issue.
Fix 1: Check for Billing Information
If you wish to continue using Apple TV+ service, you’ll need to set payment method for the service. That’ll make it easy to subscribe other Apple TV channels like AMC+ from the app. So when your Apple TV app doesn’t work, you need to check for the payment details for the app. This is also applicable to Apple One users. Follow these steps.
Step 1: Open the App Store > Profile name > Account Settings.
Step 2: On the Account Information page, click on Manage Payments. You will see your saved payment information.
Step 3: To change your selected payment method, click on Edit.
It’s possible that your Apple ID wallet is running low balance. You can top it up by clicking the Add Funds button. Or you can try another card after clicking the Add Payment button.
Fix 2: Check if the Device Limit Has Exceeded
You can enjoy a single Apple TV+ subscription on up to six devices simultaneously. So it’s easy to hit the limit if your family members or friends are using your Apple TV at the same time. If it bothers you, you can remove the access of one or more devices from your subscription. Here’s how you can do it.
Step 1: Open Settings > Click on Apple account name.
Step 2: Scroll down to find the list of all connected devices.
Step 3: Select the device that you wish to remove from your account.
Step 4: Click on the option of Remove from account.
Fix 3: Remove Apple TV App PLIST Files
A PLIST file on your Mac contains the metadata and configuration settings for an app in order to function properly. We suggest deleting the PLIST files for the Apple TV app and then restarting your Mac.
Step 1: Click on Go > Go to Go to Folder.
Step 2: Type Library/Preferences in the Search bar and then press Return.
Step 3: Select the Apple TV plist file and then drag it to the Bin.
Step 4: Empty the trash and then restart your Mac.
Fix 4: Reset Apple TV App
If the issue continues to bother you, we suggest resetting Apple TV app settings on your Mac.
Open the TV app > Select TV > Settings > Advanced > Reset Cache and Reset Warnings.
Tip: Learn how to turn off SharePlay on Apple TV.
