I have my Echo Show on my desk in front of me, and it’s distracting when the display keeps changing every few seconds. Thankfully, it’s easy to make the Echo Show stay on the clock or display the time always instead of switching between different home screen content. Here’s how to achieve the same.
Method 1: Turn off the Home Screen Content
The first thing to do is turn off all the content that appears on the Echo Show’s home screen. And also, change the clock to a static wallpaper. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to Settings > Home & Clock > Home Content.
Step 2: Turn off the toggle for all the options including the Rotate Continuously at the bottom.
Step 3: Next, use a static wallpaper or one that doesn’t change. Go to Settings > Home & Clock > Clock & Photo Display.
Step 4: Now, choose any wallpaper other than the Personal Photos or Art, Nature, and Travel Category. I use a wallpaper from the Modern category, and it stays on the clock.
Tip: Know how to play YouTube Music on Echo devices.
Method 2: Enable Night Mode
If the first method doesn’t work, put your Echo Show in Night Mode at all times. Alternatively, use this method in combination with the first method.
Go to Settings > Home & Clock > Night Mode. Enable the toggle for Night Mode Behaviour. Then, select Scheduled > tap on Change in the Scheduled option > set it from 12AM to 11:55PM. That way, Night Mode will stay enabled 24/7.
Few Tips:
- Besides the above methods, try enabling Do Not Disturb mode on your Amazon Echo Show device to make it stay on the clock. This tip also helps if the home screen clock keeps fading in and out every few seconds.
- People in the US complain that ads keep appearing no matter what they do. In such situations, try changing the Echo Show’s language to English (Canada) instead of English (US). For that, go to Settings > Device Options > Languages > select English (Canada).
Before you go, learn how to connect Echo to mobile hotspot.
