Basic Fixes:
- Restart the Fire TV Stick and router: Temporary connection problems can cause internet issues on your Fire TV Stick. To fix them, use the Settings menu to restart the Fire TV Stick. At the same time, unplug and re-plug your modem. Wait for the Wi-Fi to connect and try again.
- Check signal strength: Obstruction between your Wi-Fi router and Fire TV Stick device can cause the signal strength to be inadequate. To check, use the Settings menu on your Fire TV Stick. If so, either remove the object or move close to the router and check again.
- Ensure the ethernet adapter is compatible: If you’re using an ethernet adapter to power your Fire TV Stick, ensure it is compatible. Otherwise, it can lead to connection issues when using your Fire TV Stick device.
- Disconnect VPN: While VPNs are handy in bypassing certain regional restrictions, they can throttle speed and certain other device functions. So, disconnect any currently connected VPN and try using your Fire TV Stick again.
- Check for software updates: Software-based glitches can cause your Fire TV Stick to show a connected with problems error. To ensure this does not happen, install the latest software updates for your Fire TV Stick before using it again.
Fix 1: Forget and Re-Connect Wi-Fi
If you have recently changed your Wi-Fi password or if you’re having trouble connecting to your preferred network, you can forget and re-connect the Wi-Fi on your Fire TV Stick. This will help resolve any connection issues that might be causing the error to show. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Open your Fire TV Stick and select Settings. Select Network.
Step 2: Go to the relevant Wi-Fi connection.
Step 3: Press the menu button on the Fire TV Stick remote to forget the network. Confirm if prompted.
Step 4: Once done, select the relevant network again.
Step 5: Enter the Wi-Fi password and select CONNECT.
Once the Wi-Fi is connected, try using your Fire TV Stick device for a while to check. You can also move closer to the router and try again.
