Can You Block Someone Who Blocked You on Facebook
Yes, but it’s a little more complex than blocking someone. For starters, to block someone, you give Facebook their user profile, as shown in the screenshot below.
However, since you’ve been blocked, you can’t see or share their profile, even with Facebook. So when you search for the profile now, you’ll not be able to find them. Hence you won’t be able to block them just like that.
How to Block Someone on Facebook Who Has Already Blocked You
To block a blocker, you’ll need their Facebook profile, which looks something like this https://www.facebook.com/john.doe. Obviously, you might have not this URL filed somewhere, so now there are two options,
Option 1. Find Them on Google
Firstly, log out of your Facebook account (you can’t view their profile) or use a different browser or device. Then Google their name along with Facebook.
You might have to go through a few profiles before you get the right person. Moreover, it’s easier if the profile is public or at least has a recognizable profile picture. Otherwise, this is going to take some time and effort.
Option 2. Call a Friend
Another option is to enlist a mutual friend’s help. They can either,
- Go to Facebook web → find the person → open their profile and copy the URL.
- Open the Facebook app → find the person → open their profile → tap the three-dot icon → Copy link.
Once you have the URL, we can proceed to block the person who has blocked you. However, the method only works
Block Someone From the Facebook App
Step 1: Launch the Facebook app. Tap the three-line icon.
Step 2: Scroll down and select Settings & privacy → Settings.
Step 3: Scroll to find and click Blocking under the Audience and visibility section.
Step 4: Tap ‘Add to blocked list’. Here, you’ll need to add the profile name or ID from the URL we gathered earlier. For instance, from the profile URL- https://www.facebook.com/john.doe, use only the ‘john.doe’ part.
Step 5: You might get a few options, find the person and tap Block next to their name.
Step 6: Tap Block again.
And that’s it. You’ve successfully blocked the blocker from your Facebook profile. Notably, this person will not be able to see anything on your timeline.
Additionally, they won’t be able to post on your timeline, tag you, send you a friend request, message you, or send you invites. In fact, even if they search your name on Facebook, they’ll not see your profile.
Moreover, if they use Google or something, they’ll get a ‘This content isn’t available’ notification (barring they are logged into their Facebook account).
So, if you discover that you’ve been blocked and you’re salty about it, hopefully, our guide can bring you some peace by blocking them in return.
