Basic Fixes
- Disconnect Bluetooth devices: If you accidentally press the dedicated call button on your Bluetooth accessory, your iPhone may place random calls. Head to Settings > Bluetooth, and disconnect the connected device.
- Force restart your iPhone: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button followed by Volume Down. Press and hold the Side button and release it when the Apple logo shows up.
- Update iOS: Open iPhone Settings, select General, and tap Software Update. Select Update Now to update your iPhone.
- Contact your network carrier: Unexpected call routing or network misconfiguration can result in random calls. Contact your carrier’s network support team to troubleshoot the issue.
Fix 1: Disable Voice Dial and Voice Control
If you’ve enabled Voice Dial and Voice Control features on your iPhone, Siri may misinterpret your voice commands, placing calls randomly. Turn off these features to resolve the issue.
Step 1: Open the Settings app, select Face ID & Passcode, and toggle off Voice Dial.
Step 2: Open Accessibility under iPhone Settings, select Voice Control, and turn off its toggle.
Fix 2: Turn off Return Missed Calls
iOS’s Return Missed Calls lets you quickly return a missed call from the lock screen without unlocking your iPhone. However, accidental touches might trigger it to make random calls. Disable it from your iPhone settings.
Step 1: Open iPhone Settings > select Face ID & Passcode > type your device passcode when prompted.
Step 2: Scroll down and toggle off Return Missed Calls.
Fix 3: Reset iPhone Settings
Lastly, reset all settings on your iPhone to remove misconfigured device settings, which will cause your iPhone to make calls randomly on its own.
Step 1: Open the Settings app, select General, and tap Transfer or Reset iPhone.
Step 2: Tap Reset and select Reset All Settings.
